90-year old Laguna Woods man killed his wife and then shot himself in an attempted mercy murder-suicide.  The couple’s caretaker called 911 and the retired doctor is expected to survive.  Authorities plan to charge him with manslaughter, which can carry a 21-year sentence.  WHOLE STORY

New report shows a wide disparity in Orange County insured.  Cities such as Santa Ana (32.7%), Buena Park (25.1%) and Anaheim (22.5%) top the list of percentage least insured, while Mission Viejo (5.7%), Lake Forest (7.1%) and Newport Beach (7.3%) have the most insured.  Public health officials raise concern that preventative measures are not being taken to keep the county’s poorest from getting sick, which will be a larger drain on funds later.
