After police stopped a man in Anaheim this morning, he drove off with the officer in the car. During the struggle, the man was shot and critically injured by the policeman. Both men are being treated for their injuries. Officials say drugs were involved. WHOLE STORY
An undercover investigation into a man claiming to be a doctor revealed that Daryn Wayne Peterson, 37, is not licensed in the state of California to practice medicine. Peterson told the undercover “patient” that with all-natural vitamins and Peterson’s treatment, he could expect a complete reversal of his “cancer” in one year. Peterson is being held on five charges with a $20,000 bail. WHOLE STORY
Chrystina Rene Bock, while working for Compass Bible Church, allegedly asked church members to make their donation checks out to “CB.” She then deposited the checks into her own account. Officials believe that Bock stole more than $200,000 from the church. The investigation is on-going. WHOLE STORY
Dense fog is expected in OC coastal areas, replacing the red flag fire warning that was in affect until this morning. Fog relief will only last until mid-morning when temperatures are expected to rise into the 80’s for the coast and 90’s inland. WHOLE STORY

Henry Samueli’s sentencing appeal for lying about backdating stock options has been denied. Last year, Samueli submitted a plea agreement to the court that would include probation in lieu of prison time. The judge in that case ruled that the agreement did “not capture the seriousness of Dr. Samueli’s alleged misconduct.” This ruling has been on appeal until yesterday when the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals said that they, too, could not back Samueli’s proposed plea agreement. Four Southern California high school students have spent the last six months preparing original dress and handbag designs to share in tonight’s second annual Generation Next fashion show in Laguna Beach. The show, co-sponsored by Irvine based, O’Neill Action Sports Apparel and Teen Vogue, is part of a competition leading to a scholarship and opportunity for a design internship at O’Neill, among other prizes. Tonight’s show will also feature O’Neill’s Spring 2010 collection for the first time. WHOLE STORY
