Coast guard crews hope calm waters will aid in the search-and-rescue of nine military personnel involved in a mid-air collision over San Clemente Island. The crews were on a training mission when the accident occurred. So far, no survivors have been found. WHOLE STORY

The Soka University Haunted House will be held on the first floor crypt of the Soka U Recreation Center today and tomorrow from 6-10pm. $5 at the doomsday door. This dark journey with moving monsters is for kids 10 years old and up. For those children 10 or younger, a more kid-friendly opportunity will also be available for $2. Pacific Chorale’s tribute to the choral cathedral tradition returns to Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall on SUNDAY, with guest organist Craig S. Williams.
