ANAHEIM: The third annual, “The Gift of History” event gave thousands of Anaheim third graders a day to remember.  Ballet and Olympic Volleyball demonstrations, visits from Fire and Policemen and, of course, a dash of Disney helped teach kids about their city and encouraged community involvement.  WHOLE STORY

NEWPORT BEACH:  Public Safety Day, Sunday, October 11. Both the fire and police stations will be open to the public for tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with displays from the Newport Beach Lifeguards, and other emergency services.
