A Costa Mesa police officer wearing a uniform apprehended a theft suspect yesterday. Nothing unusually about that arrest except the uniform the officer wore was that of a UPS delivery man. The officer disguised himself to deliver a package to a vacant apartment. The parcel was later picked up by Jason Le Tran, 23, who alledgedly used a stolen credit card to make the purchase. The Orange County District Attorney’s office is charging Kenneth Joseph Leake, 75, with murder today at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. Leake was originally charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting his wife five times in September. Doris Leake died on October 8. The couple had been married for 50 years. WHOLE STORY
