Santa Ana College and Irvine Valley College will open public clinics on Saturday for free H1N1 vaccines.  Two targeted groups will be included; children 2-9 and adults younger than 49 who care of infants.  Others are asked to wait for the next round of available vaccine.  WHOLE STORY

Dr. James Corbett is appealing a summary judgment finding he violated a student’s First Amendment rights and UCI Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky has joined his defense team.  Student, Chad Farnan has also filed an appeal asking for a stronger judgment.  Advocates for Faith & Freedom, a Christian legal group will continue to stand for Farnan.  Farnan believes in Creationism, Corbett does not.  WHOLE STORY

Chris Hawk, known in the OC and the world for his surfing, died after a bout with oral cancer.  The Surfers’ Hall of Fame made an exception for Hawk last month and inducted him in September (instead of next July) to allow him to participate in the honor.  WHOLE STORY

Chris Anderson, who spent almost 20 years at the OC Register, was replaced in 2007.  After spending two years as a consultant, Anderson has been named publisher of The Oregonian, in Portland, Oregon.  Anderson grew-up in eastern Oregon and was an Oregonian paperboy.  WHOLE STORY

Irvine-based, Diedrich Coffee has begun a search for their next CEO.  Under the direction of Russ Phillips, their most recent CEO, Diedrichs made several changes to the business.  A new CEO will take on the next steps for the company.  WHOLE STORY

Frontgate Media, self-proclaimed “largest pop-culture media group in the faith based market” has announced an expansion.  The group creates custom promotions for Christian events.  The expansion into Rancho Santa Margarita brings the company up to ten full-time and part-time staff.  WHOLE STORY
