The “Emergency Influenza Containment Act,” if passed, would guarantee a sick worker asked to leave by his boss, five paid sick days per year (prorated depending on hours worked). Proponents say sick employees who stay home with the security of still getting paid prevent the spread of the highly contagious H1N1 flu.
