Brian Stanley and his family lost their home in last year’s Freeway Complex fire.  They will be home for the holidays in their new home, the first rebuilt in the Anaheim Hills neighborhood.  The Stanley’s are looking for the perfect place to display the teddy bear that was the only surviving piece of family memorabilia from that fire.  WHOLE STORY AND VIDEO

Billy Joe Johnson will spend the end of his life in San Quentin prison, awaiting the death sentence.  Though Johnson made it clear his preference was the death sentence for the murder of his friend in 2002, claiming prison conditions at San Quentin are better than the Pelican Bay State prison where a life sentence would have been lived out, the judge said circumstances of the crime still made the death sentence the best choice.  WHOLE STORY

COSTA MESA: Ronda Cohen’s disabilities created many challenges but using visual images such as ocean waves, sunsets or family photos calmed her down and created peace for her.  In Ronda’s memory, her sister and mother are partnering with Fairview Developmental Center in Costa Mesa to open a visual therapy center for the residents of the center.  WHOLE STORY
