Boy scouts, families who have lost loved ones and proud Anaheim residents join the teams of thousands of volunteers who glue rice, coffee beans, and many MANY flowers to the floats that will make up the 2010 Rose Parade.  The City of Anaheim will once again sponsor a float, and OC residents are also helping create a Donate Life float (which promotes organ and tissue donation) and a Boy Scouts of America float.  WHOLE STORY

In order to assure a top-notch second class of students, UC Irvine has raised private donations to provide all new students in the 2010 class with 50% of their annual tuition for each of their three years of law school.  Last year, the first class was provided full tuition scholarships.  The class is expected to be approximately 80 students.  WHOLE STORY

Officials believe a 19-year old woman gave birth in the bathroom of a Mexican restaurant in Stanton and then left the baby in an alley dumpster.  The woman was arrested when she attempted to receive medical treatment.  WHOLE STORY
