Miaad Bushala would really like to have Mr. Thomas Sullivan as her third-grade teacher in two years. However, Mr. Sullivan has received a pink slip due to budget cuts in education and may not be around to be her teacher. Miaad’s mom suggested that maybe, instead of gifts, Miaad could ask for money to be given to the school. At first annoyed that money for school meant fewer gifts, Miaad’s mind changed as funds started pouring in. To date, Miaad has collected $4,000 from family and friends. WHOLE STORY
Rodney Alcala’s journey to his third death sentence is littered with charges, appeals, overturned sentences and bodies. After a third trial for the killing of several women and a girl in the 1970’s, Alcala has once again been sentenced to death.
