Kristen Spears’ doctors used injections of Botox, best known for its use in creating non-surgical face-lifts, to relax her spastic muscles. Kristen’s mother, Dee, alleged that the Botox hastened the little girl’s death in 2007 and she sued Allergan Inc., the Irvine-based drug manufacturer. Mr. Pyott joined Allergan in January 1998. Previously, he was head of the Nutrition Division and a member of the Executive Committee of Novartis AG from 1995 through 1997. Mr. Pyott holds a diploma in German and European Law from the Europa Institute at the University of Amsterdam, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Edinburgh, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the London Business School. He also has been honored in the Queen’s Birthday Honors List in 2006 and holds the title of Commander of the British Empire.
