Investigators found several marijuana plants growing in a Tustin couple’s 1 year-old’s bedroom.  The plants may be legal, but growing them in proximity to a baby is not.  The investigation continues and the child has been placed in protective custody.  WHOLE STORY

OC EDUCATION

Institutions such as Brandman University, an offshoot of Chapman University, are giving “non-traditional” students the opportunity to gain skills and higher education within their own schedule availability.  Many people who have been laid off or can’t find work have enrolled in these programs but the online, weeknight and weekend classes make it possible to continue taking classes once they’re back at work, as well.  WHOLE STORY

Vanguard’s Women’s Soccer team will play the first game of the NAIA National Tournament at home tomorrow and a win could take the women to Alabama for finals. This is the first ever appearance by Vanguard in this national tournament.  WHOLE STORY

Students from Mike DeLaO and John Yeoman’s class brought more than 100 gift bags and chatted it up with veterans in a trip to the Veteran’s Affairs hospital.  The trip gave students a chance to meet men and women who have made significant sacrifices for the US.  WHOLE STORY
